We aim to collect only the information needed to operate, protect, and improve Sayzen and to provide the features you choose to use.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Sayzen application, website, and related support interactions. It does not govern third-party websites, stores, or services that have their own privacy policies.

2. Information we may collect

Account information

If you create an account, we may collect information such as your name, email address, authentication identifiers, and account preferences. If you sign in using Google or another provider, we receive the information that provider makes available with your permission.

Learning activity

We may process words you search for, favorites you save, recent-search history, and settings needed to provide and synchronize your learning experience. Some preferences or history may be stored locally on your device.

Device, usage, and diagnostics

We may collect device type, operating-system version, app version, language, approximate region, advertising or app-instance identifiers, interactions with features, crash details, and performance data.

Purchase information

If you purchase a subscription, we receive transaction status, product or plan information, and identifiers needed to verify and manage access. Full payment-card details are handled by the app store or payment provider and are not stored by Sayzen.

Communications

If you contact support, we may collect your message, contact details, and any information you choose to provide so we can respond.

3. How we use information

We may use information to:

  • Provide pronunciation search, definitions, favorites, history, and account features.
  • Authenticate users and synchronize eligible account data.
  • Process purchases, confirm subscriptions, and prevent payment fraud.
  • Maintain security, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse.
  • Understand feature performance and improve the Sayzen experience.
  • Display and measure advertising where the app offers an ad-supported experience.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

4. When information may be shared

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: vendors that support hosting, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, communications, and app operations.
  • Payments: app stores and payment processors that complete purchases and manage subscriptions.
  • Advertising: advertising partners that deliver or measure ads, subject to platform permissions and your available choices.
  • Legal and safety: authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or investigate abuse.
  • Business changes: a successor or adviser involved in a merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer of the service, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Third-party services used by the app may include Firebase, Google Sign-In, Google Mobile Ads, Unity Ads, Razorpay, and the Apple App Store or Google Play. Their processing is governed by their own privacy terms.

5. Legal bases

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information as needed to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests such as securing and improving the service, comply with legal obligations, or based on consent. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on it, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

6. Data retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing your account, meeting legal and accounting requirements, resolving disputes, and protecting the service. Retention periods vary by data type and context. Local app data may remain on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, or object to certain processing. You may also:

  • Update available profile and app settings.
  • Clear favorites or search history where the feature is provided.
  • Manage notification, tracking, and advertising permissions in device settings.
  • Manage subscriptions through the store or provider used to purchase them.
  • Request account deletion through the support option in the app.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a privacy request.

8. International data transfers

Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use recognized safeguards designed to protect information transferred across borders.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s privacy

Sayzen is not directed to children who are below the minimum age required to consent to online services in their location. If we learn that personal information was collected from a child without required authorization, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the service, our practices, or applicable law. We will revise the effective date and provide additional notice when a change is material.
